From time to time, things will need to be replaced. No one voluntarily walks around with old things. No one would, by choice, wear a ripped shirt or old pants or drive around in a destroyed car. Given the chance, we would opt for the newer model. Many, however, walk around with something old daily—Not by choice but because of life’s hardships. Hurt, childhood traumas, failures, disappointments, and things out of your control may have shaped your heart today.

Perhaps you have lived with a heart filled with hurt for many years. This heart isn’t the physical heart but the soul. It may feel like every other organ is made of flesh and blood, but your heart is made of stone or has become so tender that everything little affects it. Now, grudges, sadness, and anxiety are all that fill it. However, it can be made new.

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 36:26

God can remove that old heart. He can rip out all the hurt, trauma, and pain of the past and give you a brand new heart. Allow Him to perform this spiritual transplant in your life. He needs your consent to act. When you pray and ask Him to work in you and give you a new life, He begins His work.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
