There is a story about a little donkey: One day, he ran home excitedly, ready to tell his mother about his big day. He told her about people being happy to see him, throwing palms and cheering for him, and his mother wondered what could have caused this. She advised him to go to the same place the next day, so he did. However, there was no crowd, celebration, palms, or excitement.
That night, he went home in sadness, and his mother asked him what had happened. He explained that today was different from yesterday, and she asked him what was different. To no one’s surprise, he shared with her that a Man named Jesus was with him on that special and joyful day.
The moral of the story is that without Jesus, we are nothing. Just like that donkey, many are walking around without Jesus and are not experiencing the life they hope to lead. But just as Jesus has risen, He will lift you up.
“… knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you.” 2 Corinthians 4:14
With Jesus, not without Him. Because without Him, we can do nothing. The Holy Week and its celebrations have come to an end. What will you do next? Will you continue seeking a close relationship with our Lord? Will you remember Him during your day-to-day activities? Or will the Lord Jesus be a distant memory that will only surface around this time next year? Let us recognize our dependence on the Lord Jesus. We should recognize Him not just on holidays, but every day of the year. The day that we walk without Him is a day without victory.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
