Some people are not great at multitasking. They can only focus on one thing at a time; otherwise, something will be left incomplete. Maybe you know exactly what I mean because you are this kind of person, or perhaps you’ve met this kind of person and know that they can’t handle too many things at once.
How fortunate for us that this is not how our God operates. He can both listen to and answer our prayers all at the same time. I would hate to imagine how things would be if He were only able to attend to one person at a time!
“Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” Psalms 55: 22
In this day and age, who is taking on another’s burden? No one. Everyone has their own problems, and it is rare to find someone willing to add someone else’s burden to their own. However, He promised that not only can you cast those worries, sicknesses, problems, and frustrations upon Him, but He will also sustain you and you won’t be moved by them.
Perhaps lately, it seems that God isn’t hearing you—He is. Every time you kneel, stand, or put your hands together and pray, He hears you. As long as you call out to Him, your prayer is received and He will sustain you until the answer comes. He will not allow His righteous to be moved.
Trust in God. He can do both.
