Some things require a second opinion—diagnoses, legal matters, or even a new haircut—but some things warrant no approval from others. Your faith is one of these non-negotiables.

When Moses stood before the Red Sea, his first instinct was to pray. That instinct wasn’t wrong, but it was not what God required from him at that moment.

“And the Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.” Exodus 14:15-16

Imagine if Moses had consulted the multitude that was with him. How many different opinions he would have heard? But his instruction came directly from God, and he obeyed—This is the kind of faith we must have. Your faith must be your faith and no one else’s. Instead of consulting person A or B, consult God. Ask Him for the direction you need because He won’t lead you astray.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
