Have you ever heard the phrase, “Your word is your bond”? To state it simply, it means that whatever you say you will do, you do it. It seems like such a simple task. Just do what you say you will do, but how often have you been disappointed by someone not keeping their word? It could be as simple as not showing up on time or as severe as breaking a promise that could mean life or death.
Whatever your experience may have been, you know very well how it feels when someone breaks their word with you. It happens all the time: medications that promise to fix a problem only to add a new problem to your health, lawyers who promise to win your case but in the end you are left with the misfortune. Time and time again, human beings may fail us, but there is a word that never lacks and never fails in completing its promise.
“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:10-11)
Maybe you have read the Bible many times and even know it cover to cover, but you have never truly seen the promises of God in your life. God never breaks his promises. Your job is to believe. Believe that the Word of God is not just a storybook or words on a page. We have all fallen victim to believing in other people, but do we show the same belief in the Word of God? Our trust in His promises must be even greater. Believe in Him because He never breaks His promises. Today, you can take steps to see this Word become real in your life.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
