You keep your most valuable belongings in a secure place, right? Jewelry is in a safe, money is in a bank, and important documents are in protected folders. But where are you keeping your heart?

Imagine if someone left their most precious possessions out in the open, unprotected, with no care. It wouldn’t be long before they were lost or stolen.

The heart is even more valuable because the issues of life flow from it. What you allow into your heart shapes your thoughts, attitudes, and decisions.

The Bible teaches us:

“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” (Proverbs 4:23, NKJV)

Guarding the heart means watching what enters it—what we hear, see, and meditate on. We cannot allow feelings like bitterness, envy, or fear to dominate the heart, as these can distance us from God and His blessings.

By guarding your heart in God, His Word, and His presence, you protect yourself from falling into the snares of the world. Just as you wouldn’t leave your most valuable possessions exposed, don’t leave your heart unguarded.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
