Different actions reap different results. If you do the same thing over and over again, you can almost predict what will happen. However, it is a great leap of faith when you try something new, not knowing what the result will be. When you are looking for something new to happen, this could be your greatest step.
When was the last time you tried something new in your faith? Praying at a different time, waking up early in the morning to read your Bible, or changing your routine to involve more things of faith? It’s easy to fall into a routine of faith.
- Remember to pray
- Remember to read your Bible
- Remember to go to church on Sundays
- Remember to tithe
But don’t forget to call God’s attention! This is what happens when we break out of the “routine of faith.”
O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You;
My flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water.
(Psalms 63:1)
Invest in seeking God this way. Imagine your soul being thirsty for God and your flesh longing for Him. Just those words give you a sense of urgency. Although the days may become mundane, don’t allow this to apply to your faith. Every time you do something out of the norm, God sees. When you do something new in your faith, God does something new in your life.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
