Imagine studying for years for a great profession, graduating, and not using any of that knowledge. Wouldn‘t you consider that a waste— Investing so much in something but putting it to no use?
The same can be said for someone who studies the Word of God but does not abide by it. A person can know the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, but if they are not committed to living it, then they are lost.
The Word of God cannot be taken for granted. Far too often, many try to lead double lives. They appear to be one thing inside a church or institution, but outside, they are a completely different person. They are this person who knows the Word but is far from God and is being led down the path of destruction. It‘s not enough to know the Word; it is much more important to live the Word. Take time to invest in the Word of God, not just reading or understanding it but investing in practicing it.
“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” James 1:22
May the God of the Bible bless you!
