You don’t need to be an Olympic swimmer to swim in the shallow end of a pool. Even children learn to swim there because it’s easier. The deep end, however, comes with its dangers and challenges. Only a seasoned swimmer should approach the deep end. As we all know, it takes practice to reach the deep end. No one gets there overnight.
This can be compared to the life of a believer. In the beginning, we fight to conquer salvation through prayers, fasting, and time spent seeking God. As time goes on, there is no rest. In fact, the challenges become harder, and the problems grow heavier, but a seasoned Christian knows how to navigate those waters.
Just take a look at these examples of faith:
“And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle…” Hebrews 11: 32-34
It sounds amazing, doesn’t it? These are just a few examples of their accomplishments. If you read each of their stories, you will see that their victory was not accomplished lightly. They fought to keep their faith, trust God, and go until the end.
They are testimonies of the primitive faith, inspiring those who face difficulties today.
As you read this message, you may be going through something right now. You have lions around you, and the fire is hot, but because of your faith, you will overcome. Never give up; keep going because the Lord is with you. He remains the same – faithful till the end.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
