If you meet the son of a reputable man, normally you refer to him as, “the son of… so and so”. For example, if you meet the son of Bill Gates, you would definitely say, “wow, I meet… he’s Bill Gates son”. Why do you say that? Because what the father has accomplished is so great, that anyone connected to him that has not accomplished anything as great is referred to by the name of the one who made the difference. The one who left a mark will always be remembered most. The one who stood out, is the name that is used as a reference.

Now jumping forward to nowadays… thousands of years after Abraham died, we still refer to God as the God of Abraham. But why? Why would Abraham’s name be used as a reference point for God. Why is his name so honored? We know that it is because of his actions. Only actions of faith can make such a reputation. Even the Lord Jesus referenced him with honor when He said,

And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 8:11

Why would Jesus reference the kingdom of heaven and talk about sitting down with Abraham? And make it clear that it would be an honor. Because what Abraham did here on earth gave him a name that is honored here on earth and in heaven. When a person makes real sacrifices to God… not just sacrifices, but real (not comfortable or easy) sacrifices to God, they can even surprise God. Yes, God is all knowing, but He does not fail to be impressed when someone demonstrates TOTAL dependency on Him. The kind of sacrifice that takes courage and trust, like when Abraham bound Isaac and offered him on the altar.

It was that kind of faith that made him a legend. And the same kind of faith can make you a spiritual legend. Abraham is dead and in heaven. But there is a seat next to him waiting for the right one to sit in it. And you don’t have to wait until you die to sit there… your actions right now can make space for you at the table with Abraham.

Are you ready to do what Abraham did? If so, in the Campaign of Israel, you will surprise God with your total sacrifice and God will surprise you with the results in your life. Bishops and Pastors from all over the world will gather at the Gate of Haran to cry out for those who want to have a seat at the table with Abraham. But it is your sacrifice that will make space at the table for you.

May the God of the Bible Bless You
