Usually, when a person who has many assets dies, they leave behind a document, specifying who should receive their possessions. Now, normally this document that we call “the will” is written long before or at least sometime before the person passes away. But the interesting thing is that even though it is written before, it can not be claimed, until the person is dead. And that is why you have many people chasing after the possessions of parents and loved ones that passed… because they can take possession once they are gone.

Now if you think about the Bible, and consider it a “will” (actually it is divided into the old testament and new testament), which technically it is. But imagine how many promises are written for us in the word of God. And not only are they written, but they are ready to be claimed! Maybe you ask, but why and how are they ready? Because Jesus already died! Of course, He is alive, but He paid this price of dying for us, so that we could take possession of what is written in the “testaments”.

The word of God even says,

For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. 2 Corinthians 1:20

The promises are there, the conditions of receiving them were met, so what is left that is stopping you from receiving them? Your actions! The promises of God will not fall into your lap, you have to sacrifice and take possession of them. A will can be left sitting in a desk for years and no one ever takes possession of the promises outlined in it. But if a person recognizes the promise and decides to take possession because it is theirs to possess… then this person will receive and live out the promises of the will that was written for them.

My friend, there are over 8,000 promises in the Bible. Don’t you think it’s time that you started to see them in your life?

May the God of the Bible Bless You
