If my father owns a bakery and makes bread every day, then what is one thing that you never expect me to lack? BREAD! Could you even imagine a bakers son starving and hungry? Can you imagine a bakers son, not even having bread to eat? No, I know I sure could not. The son of a baker should always have plenty of bread at his disposal.

If then that is the case with an earthly bakery, then why do so many of the Heavenly Father’s children lack bread. People who say, “God is good, and all the time”. People who go to church religiously. People who know the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. How can the same ones who call God their Father, not have even bread (meaning the basic things that they need) to eat? It doesn’t make sense!

Jesus said,

Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Matthew 7:9

The Father wants to give good things to His people, but what stops Him many times is the lack of obedience. As much as He wants to give them all of the desires of their heart (the good ones, of course), He can not give good things to someone who doesn’t listen to Him.

To obey God takes effort and a willingness to sacrifice. Because sooner or later He will ask you to give up something that is valuable to you and hurts. Just like Abraham had to leave his country and later had to give up his son Isaac. God tests our faith through challenging us to sacrifice. But when we obey, the blessings come pouring down. And it’s like that beautiful smell of fresh bread in the morning. That smell that lets you know, there is more than enough bread there for you to fill yourself upon. God has the bakery, but you have to sacrifice to get the bread. Don’t ever accept to be a child of the Baker, and survive on crumbs!

May the God of the Bible Bless You
