In the world we live in today, most people have their priorities mixed up. They invest all their strength into things that don’t last and can not fulfill them. For example, if you own a business and make millions of dollars, so much so that you can buy a ten bedroom mansion, but inside this mansion, you live alone… what’s the point? You have the best car in the world, but you drive in it alone every day, what’s the point? These luxurious things by themselves do not have the power to make anyone happy. The joy comes in having a family to share it with.

Your money, your dreams, your goals should not be financial success. It must be family. First comes your salvation (your name written in the Book of Life), but second, right after salvation is family. Invest in your family. You can lose your job, your car, your house, but do not accept to lose your family. Maybe you say, “but I have to work to support my family”. It’s true, but you need balance. Many people put their all into building their business and finances, but they don’t have a family. And the more money they get, the more they want.

Many parents did not even see the child grow up because they were working all the time. Marriages suffer because the spouse invests all the time into the business, etc. In the end, they end up miserable.

The correct order should be: God first, Family second, Career/Finances after. The Word of God says,

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ Mark 12:30

Neighbor means a person near to or next to you. And who is nearest to you? Your husband, wife or children. Don’t forget this order! You can be the most successful person in the world outwardly, but without a family, you have nothing. Again I say, the order must be: God, Family, then Career or anything else meaningful to you. But never let the family fall below second place… and second place only after God.

May the God of the Bible Bless You
