Surely you have received an invitation to an event. Whether it be a wedding, graduation, funeral, or to celebrate the success of a loved one. Whatever the invitation was, it’s guaranteed that you’ve never received an invitation like this one. Have you ever received an invitation to change your life? Well, that is the invitation that the Lord Jesus presented to everyone. Yes, everyone. No matter your color, creed, innocence or guilt, worthiness or lack of it, this invitation is for you.
If you were to have a special event, who would you invite? Maybe you say only those who are near and dear to you, have known you for a long time, or have stuck by you through it all. However, the Lord Jesus doesn’t discriminate in His invitation. He invites anyone and everyone who says to themselves, “ I am suffering. I am heavily burdened by these problems and need a way out.” This invitation is for you.
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
What has been your burden? Your health? Your family, finances, day-to-day life? Or maybe you say that your burden is so deep within your soul that it would take a miracle to be free from it. You are exactly the person the Lord Jesus’ invitation is for, and it’s up to you to decide to RSVP. No matter how long it’s been, it isn’t too late. You can respond to this invitation right now by calling upon God and asking Him to help you. He is waiting to give you much-needed rest.
