There is nothing worst than living a life of denial. To see the reality and deny it is nonsense. For example if you are feeling a terrible pain in your leg, and you have let it go on day after day for weeks already, but the pain has not gone away… something is wrong. So for you to sit back and say, “I feel great… I am fine… I have never felt better…” is useless. The pain will remain and whatever is wrong will get worse.

But that is exactly what many Christians do. They see their life is not moving forward, but they pretend that everything is okay. It’s a life of pretend, in the worst possible way.

The men and women of faith in the Bible did not accept that. Look at how Gideon spoke to the Angel of the Lord;

Gideon said to Him, “O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles…”

(Judges 6:13)

He was honest with God about his life and his situation. He wanted to know where the promises were. That was not rude, but was intelligent to charge God to fulfill what He spoke. Yet today many of those who will read this message would say, “how dare he talk to God like that!” But the truth is, how can you sit back and see that things in your life are not good, but still convince yourself that everything is okay?

Let’s be honest, you know it’s horrible! The problems in your life, the failures, the disappointments, the frustrations… it is not a life, it is absolutely horrible.

So then, what’s the point of pretending? Cry out to God and ask for a change. Not because you deserve it, but because His Word promises it.

May the God of the Bible bless you
