In life, there is a time to speak and a time to keep silent. Have you ever noticed that when a person is feeling a little unwell and he goes and starts to speak to others about how bad he feels, it seems like automatically he starts to feel even worst? Maybe it’s happened to you. You had a slight headache, but when someone asked you how you were doing and you said, “I’m feeling a little headache…” all of a sudden, you started to feel much worst.

It’s because words have power. What you say will become what you feel, what you see and what you do. There is no denying this fact because it is written in the Word of God.

“For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

(Matthew 12:37)

Your words either bless you or curse you. You will always eat the fruit of your words. If you say “I am sick… I have cancer… I am dying… I am going broke… I am about to lose my marriage… I will never get that job… I will never be strong in my faith like that person… etc.”, then these things are going to happen in your life. Have no doubt about it.

At the same time, if you speak words of life and faith, then you will have victory in your life. I am not telling you to lie or be deceitful. I am saying to live by faith. Don’t look at the circumstances around you and allow your mouth to say things that it shouldn’t. Because those things can start to destroy you.

It’s like the elders usually say, “you’ve got to watch your mouth”.

May the God of the Bible bless you
