How many times have you answered, ‘so-so’ or ‘hanging in there’ when somebody greets you?

When prompted to explain further, you go on to say, ‘my depression is bad’ or ‘my arthritis is playing up.’

It has become normal to answer in this way. Maybe you are reading this post and don’t see anything wrong with those responses.

Let me paint another picture for you…

It’s like you put your kids in the best and most expensive private school only for them not to even bother opening a book – because they classify themselves as unsmart.

It would sadden you to hear that your children think so little of themselves and don’t appreciate the fact that you believe in them enough to invest in them and that they can achieve academically if they decide to.

Imagine how God feels when he hears you claiming sickness and problems as your own, knowing full well that He already took all your pains and infirmities!

“Standfast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.”

(Galatians 5:1)

Never claim these things as yours. Sickness is not yours, depression is not yours, problems are not yours and you shouldn’t accept to be known by such titles.

Many people remember the date of their diagnosis and carry that date around with them. How about using your faith and deciding that you are healed, free from addiction or depression, and letting the date of this decision be the one you carry?

Never say, ‘I have…’

Instead, say, ‘I had…’

Go ahead, declare your blessing, and then go back to your doctor and get ready for the good news!

It will be done according to your faith.

May the God of the Bible bless you.
