This question might seem silly but I must ask it; Have you ever been in a relationship that was one-sided? You know that person that tells you they love you but don’t show it with actions.

You know that man that says to the woman, “I love you, then he sleeps with her, and even has babies, but insists, “I don’t want to marry you”… is this love? No, and you know it is not! He says I love with his lips but his actions show something else! That husband that says, “I love you”, but has many women outside… it just doesn’t make any sense.

Now let us look at the same situation regarding a churchgoer; a person goes to church and says “I love the Lord,” “I worship God,” but outside this same person shows something else. It is better not to say, “I love you” and be faithful than to say, “I love you” and betray Him!

Would you accept someone just saying I love you and doing everything opposite to show this love? For sure not! How much more would God not accept this.

Pay attention to this passage;

And you shall  love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’  This is the first commandment.

(Mark 12:30)

And the Lord Jesus also said,

“If you love Me, keep My commandments…”

(John 14:15)

In other words, you show your love for God by obeying His word. That’s how you show true love. This kind of love is not a feeling, but a decision and action.

Now can answer this question sincerely; do you Love the Lord?

May the God of the Bible bless you
