What benefit is it to simply know you have a great inheritance, if you never receive it? Perhaps at first, you may even feel excited, feel encouraged and even motivated – but what about actually taking possession of that inheritance? Will the mere knowledge of this information change your life at all?

The truth is, knowledge alone will not change your life. Meaning that if that knowledge is not applied, nothing will happen! Let us take a look at Gideon from the Bible. He knew of a great God – the God of his forefathers – who set them free from 400 years of slavery in Egypt. He knew of this great God who tore down the walls of Jericho and delivered the enemies of the children of Israel into their hands. He knew of the power and promises of this great God, but he was living a life of misery and pain. He was living in fear, hiding in caves.

Because of the Midianites, the children of Israel made for themselves the dens, the caves, and the strongholds which are in the mountains.

(Judges 6:2)

What did all of his knowledge do to change his life? It did nothing to change his situation. And how many Christians nowadays are living in fear of their problems? They have knowledge of the Bible, but their lives are full of pain, suffering and misery. We can even say that their lives are full of information, but empty of God’s power and promises. Having the information is not enough, God’s blessings and promises must be a reality in the lives of those who believe.

Those who believe, take action. Gideon believed, so he took an action of faith. My dear friend, now is the time for a change in your life. Now is the time to see the power of God become a reality for you. If you are living a miserable life, but say that you believe in God, then something is wrong. Enough is enough!

And the Lord said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.”

(Judges 6:15)

When we act, God reacts. What action of faith is God asking you to take?

May the God of the Bible bless you
