Sometimes when things are going wrong in life and you can’t understand why it’s happening, you may feel confused and frustrated. For example, when a person gets bad news from a doctor, they began to feel like that is a punishment or something. And normally, they blame who? God. When a person is being enticed by something wrong, they think that God is the one allowing it. That’s not true.

Let me take a moment to explain to you clearly. There is a difference in testing and tempting. God does not tempt anyone. So then we just need to separate the two words and their meanings.

What God does is test, what satan brings is temptation. Temptation provokes you to do something that is wrong and will offend God. A test from God is the prove to yourself first and also show that you believe and are willing to obey something He has instructed you to do. For example, the Bible says in;

 “Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for money, holding the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience.But let these also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, being found blameless.” 1 Timothy 3:8-10

You see God says to let them be tested. He doesn’t mean tempted, but tested. It’s like a student that wants to move on to the next grade must be tested to make sure they understood the lessons and are ready to face the next challenge. In the same way, God’s servants must be tested to show that they are ready to face the next challenge. So that’s the difference… a test is there to prove you and make you better. A temptation comes to destroy you and tear you down. God tests, but never tempts. And He even gives His Holy Spirit to those who seek Him with all of their strength to help them overcome temptation.

May the God of the Bible Bless You
