There is a doctor for every part of our body. If you have eye problems, then you will be referred to an optometrist to help resolve it. If you have heart problems then you will be directed to a cardiologist. If you have problems in your feet, you will be sent to a podiatrist. There seems to be a specialist for every area of the body… except for one. The soul. What doctor can say that they know how to treat the soul? Not one.

When the soul is grieved (depressed), there is no pill or treatment that can relieve it. Even if the person is prescribed medicine, that medicine normally just calms them or numbs them for a moment and once it wears off, the problem is still there.

That’s why when it comes to dealing with depression, there is only One Doctor who is qualified to treat it… and that is Jesus. Though I am not against any medical professional that works to help victims of depression, we can see from experience that medical treatments do not always work, and most, if not all who take pills to treat it, if they go without the pill for even a few days, the symptoms return stronger than ever. But the Word of God says about the Lord Jesus;

Surely He has borne our griefs

And carried our sorrows; Isaiah 53:4

You see, Jesus took our griefs (depression) to the cross with Him and carried it along with our sorrows (problems) and nailed it to the cross in order to give us the right to overcome them and not be destroyed by them. Now it’s up to you to do what many servants of God did in the Bible, and make a decision to no longer accept depression as normal, but to fight to get free from it once and for all.

May the God of the Bible Bless You
