“Do I look fat in this?”

“If I sleep for an extra 30 minutes, will I still make it on time?”

“Do you think this relationship has a future?”

Asking questions that you already know the answer to, is not only pointless, but is often done in order to make yourself feel better for diverting from a goal or when you are avoiding certaindecisions.

Many of those questions are harmless and have little to no effect on your life. I mean, convincing yourself that you haven’t grown out of that outfit in your closet, will not make or break you, however, when you try to lie to yourself about the bigger issues in life, that’s when the consequences are different.

When you try to hide the fact that you are cheating on your spouse or stealing from your boss, that’s a whole new ball game! When you are ‘Christian’ by title but ‘little devil’ in action that is something which will not go unnoticed – by God AND by Satan.

That’s right, Satan can see your double life. He knows how well you sing in church on Sunday and how sneaky you are during the rest of the week. He even facilitates things so that you feel as though you are getting away with your sin, but don’t kid yourself that things will end nicely.

Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” … “Be angry, and do not sin…  nor give place {opportunity} to the devil. (Ephesians 4:25-27)

The Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul is clearly warning us that trying to get away with sin is like building an account with the devil. Sooner or later Satan will come back to collect his check!

Decide that from today, you will put aside everything that you know God is not happy with. Stop lying, cheating or postponing the decision to give your life to God. Refuse to open any gap for the devil to sneak into your life and please, don’t foolishly think that God can be deceived.

You know how you’ve been living lately; you know what you need to stop, in order to get back on track with God. But for those of you who insist on asking the question (that you already know the answer to): “How can I put my life right before God?”

My advice: Don’t get into bed with the devil.

May the God of the Bible bless you.
