It doesn’t matter how good the intentions may be, anytime you lean on man for help and support you will end up disappointed. Of course, there are moments when you have to go to the doctor, or maybe get a lawyer involved to help you with a lawsuit. There are times when a friend can be a good listening ear, or even a pastor can offer spiritual advice and counseling. But at the end of the day, you should not lean on any of them or anyone else for support.

God is the only secure source of help and support. Just ask someone that has been betrayed or disappointed and they will certainly confirm that for you. You should not put all of your confidence in any human being, because human beings fail and disappoint.

Actually, you should not even put all your trust in yourself. As the scriptures say,

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

And lean not on your own understanding; (Proverbs 3:5)

As you see through this scripture, you should trust in God with ALL of your heart. It doesn’t say trust your wife, child, doctor, friend, or any other person with all of your heart… only God.

How many times have you been hurt or let down by trusting someone with an important issue in your life? Probably too many to count. Now it’s time to transfer your trust to God. Put your all in His hands by making a conscious decision to turn to Him for guidance, support, strength, and comfort in your times of need.

To make it crystal clear to you, I leave you with this verse,

God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1)

And that’s why you should lean on Him and Him alone.

May the God of the Bible bless you
