If you’ve ever been in a hurricane or tornado, then you know what it feels like to have to endure a storm. When a hurricane strikes, it can last for hours and hours on end. Tornados come and go rather quickly, but hurricanes take time to pass. When the storm is raging, it can feel endless and overwhelming. But the reality is and will always be, just like any other storm, sooner or later it has to pass.

The same applies to the storms of life. Right now the world is in the midst of a storm. Not only the virus that’s spreading but all of the fear and panic and financial consequences that come due to it. The world is in complete and utter disarray at the moment. This is perhaps one of the most trying periods of time that we’ve faced in a long time.

Never forget that the Lord Jesus warned us about what was to come in the world. He said,

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

(John 16:33)

Did you notice where He said our peace comes from? Our peace comes from being “in” Him. When you are in Him and He in you, then you have peace because the Spirit of Peace is inside of you. I doubt that those who have the Spirit of God and are totally sure of their salvation are afraid at this moment. I doubt that someone born of God is panicking right now. Those of God will be careful and wise, but not act hopeless and in despair.

The Lord Jesus said, “Be of good cheer”. He was saying to be happy and strong no matter what is happening around you. As hard as that may be to do sometimes, that is exactly what those who trust in Him do. So you need to remind yourself everything you are feeling nervous and afraid, that Jesus is with you, and if He overcame, then you will overcome as well.

May the God of the Bible bless you
