Do you want to cause problems for an elderly person? Take away their independence.

How many times has that grandma or grandpa that has been functioning for many years; waking up early sweeping the yard, taking their morning walks, preparing meals, and doing their everyday tasks, was okay as long as they stayed active.

During many years of their routine, they were quite okay and healthy, but then out of the blue something happened to them. Maybe a broken arm or leg which caused them to stop functioning in the way that they could before. Then that loving child of theirs places them in a nursing home, thinking that it is the best thing, but after a short period, they die without cause.

Well, at least that’s what the doctor’s report said, but there was a reason; they got so used to their independence that when it is taken away, they stop functioning, which caused their death.

Some things are good getting used to: your independence, a healthy diet, helping your loved ones…

But there are some things that you should never get used to. You can never get used to a cursed life, poverty, a broken relationship, addiction, this pandemic and its effects, and don’t get used to losing in this time.

The thought of adapting and being accommodated with these things is not acceptable by God, and that’s why His words advise the following:

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

(Romans 12:2)

After reading these words, take a long look at your life and answer this question: Do you think your life is showing the good and acceptable and perfect will of God?

If not, then start to change the way you think as of this moment. First of all, change the way you see yourself. Stop seeing yourself as a defeated person and start to see yourself as a victorious person. This is the first step, and for sure the other steps will come to your renewed mind.

May the God of the Bible bless you.
