Let’s say you are feeling very sick. But I mean, very very sick, to the point that you have to go to the hospital. If you go to the hospital and sit in the emergency room, or even inside of the doctors office… but never see the doctor… will you feel better? No. You can walk around the hospital, go from room to room, look at the medications, watch other patients being treated, or whatever else. But if you do not see the doctor for yourself, you will leave there feeling no better.

Jesus is the doctor and the church is the spiritual hospital. Many come to church every week and sometimes more than once a week. But they leave feeling absolutely no better. Their life does not change. The problems still remain. The emptiness still remains. The hopelessness still remains. But why? Didn’t they come to church? Yes, but they did not see the “Doctor”. They did not have an encounter with Jesus. They came, sang songs and praised and worshipped, but never experienced a true encounter with God.

Jesus wants to help those who need help. He even said in His word;

“Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.” Mark 2:17

He knows very well that you have been sick with problems and need His help. Now the time has come to call upon Him through action, not just words. You have to do what pleases Him and He will give you a life that pleases you.

The secret to having a true encounter with God and also receiving the Spirit of God (which is the only way to be completely happy), is to do what pleases Him. Start looking for ways to please God more with your life, and you will draw His attention to you.

May the God of the Bible bless you
