Have you ever been on your way somewhere and realized that you were going the wrong direction? I’m sure you have. Even in the age of GPS systems, there are times when a person puts in the wrong address, or missed a letter and ends up on the wrong course. But what do you do when you see that you are going the wrong way? You turn around, right? You change directions. Because you don’t want to end up in the wrong place.

Abraham made a wrong turn in life, Yes Abraham. He wanted a son and because his wife was barren and God had promised to give him a son; but she didn’t want to wait, so the servant of his wife was bought to him by his own wife.

“Then Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar her maid, the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan. So he went in to Hagar, and she conceived.”Genesis 16:3-4

She basically said, “sleep with her, because I want a baby”. And Abraham made that wrong turn. He accepted that, had the baby and that baby brought problems to the family and now the wife became jealous of the girlfriend.  Whenever she (Sarah) saw Abraham with his so-called son outside of the marriage there was a problem. And many families suffer because of similar mistakes, ‘Wrong Turns’. Because of wrong turns, somebody is in jail, because of a wrong turn somebody is now stuck in addiction. Maybe your son, your daughter, or your family member.

But God made the correction in that family and bought to Abraham, his promised son Isaac. The Blessing.

Do not do your way, let God do His way in your family. Do not fight physically or verbally, do not take a wrong turn. Let the Spirit of God guide you. Maybe you are about to do something. If you doubt don’t do it. If you are about to make a decision, you are about to do something and you are so-so about it, and you are doubtful, it’s better not to do anything. Stop, pray to God and ask Him for the right direction, because if you do it in doubt, like Abraham, you are going to make a wrong turn.

In case of doubt, don’t do anything. Be sure before you act, and you will avoid wrong turns.

May the God of the Bible Bless You
