We hear many words from friends, family members, co-workers, neighbors, physicians, lawyers, our bosses, etc. Words, words, and more words.

But there is only One word that gives life because that word is Spirit and life… it’s the Word of God. Many people have this misconception about the Bible, they simply take the book itself, read it, and say that they are believers.

However, the word without Spirit is nothing. The letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. Whenever you read the bible, you should meditate on every word, every sentence and every verse of the chapter that you are reading. There are many occasions when people read the bible without understanding what they were reading. That’s why God spoke through stories and parables to make the point clear, because if you read but don’t understand what you are reading, then you are reading in vain.

Before reading the bible you need to place your hand on the bible and pray saying ‘Lord, I want to hear your voice’. The first Psalm of the Bible (Psalm 1) says:“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seats of the scornful but his delight is in the law of the Lord and in His law, he meditates day and night.”

In His law (which is the Word of God) he meditates day and night. That is what we have to do. Meditate on the Word of God day and night.

I am going to read the book of John from chapter 18 – 21 until the end of March. Then on April 1st (Easter Sunday), I will start reading the Book of Matthew, and from there I will continue reading the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). Why? Because if you don’t know the story of Jesus, you will never know Him.

Many people read many books of the bible but they don’t understand them. For you to understand the other books of the bible you first need to know the story of Jesus… that’s why when you read the gospels you will be able to know Jesus. Make a vow to yourself to read the Word of God daily. By meditating day and night you will become spiritually strong, healthy and powerful.

May the God of the Bible Bless All of You
