There’s an old saying the goes… “too little, too late”. People say this when a person tries to fix something after it is already too far gone to be repaired. How many times do we see this? Countless! A man tries to finally start investing in his marriage… but he waits until his wife has no more patience to wait for things to change anymore. A mother wants to start being a better mother, after years of not being there for her children… but now they are adults and don’t care anymore. A rebellious child decides to change and start obeying the parent, but that parent is already on their death bed. The list goes on and on. Many times a person decides to do something, but it’s “too little, too late”.

In the Bible we see the case of the rich man and Lazarus that illustrates this story precisely.

The rich man had already been condemned to hell, because of his decisions whilst on earth. But when he begged Abraham to let Lazarus give him a drop of water to cool his tongue, and that request was denied… Immediately he turned his request to his family.

“I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house, for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.” Luke 16:27-28

He begged for someone to go and warn his family. When he realized how bad hell was, he wanted to make sure his family didn’t go there. But it was “too little, too late”.  What had to be done, was supposed to be done whilst he was on earth.

And what about your family? Have you done EVERYTHING that can be done to reach them and help them? How far are you willing to go to save them?

There is only one place that guarantees their future and that is on the altar of God. If you truly want to see your family saved and changed then you must place them on God’s altar, and seek His help to change them. Trying to do in your own strength will never work. But God can touch them in ways that you don’t have the power to reach them. That’s why on God’s altar is where the victory in the family comes from. Had the rich man placed his family on God’s altar when he had a chance to… he would not be worried about their future. Actually, he would not be worried about his nor theirs.

May the God of the Bible Bless You
