You know that feeling when you have no desire to speak to anyone, you want to stay to yourself, you don’t feel like getting dressed up, you don’t want to put on make-up, it feels like the weight of the whole entire world is on your shoulders? It’s like you are locked in a prison, without a key to get out. It’s the deepest sadness of the soul. It’s depression.

Even King David in the Bible felt this great distress at one point. He was so down he actually said;

Bring my soul out of prison, That I may praise Your name; PS 142:7

He asked God to take his soul out of prison. He felt like he was trapped on the inside for a moment. But instead of getting to the point of being suicidal, He called on God.

Everyone has moments when it feels like the walls are closing in on you. Everyone has moments of deep despair. Everyone feels or felt depression before. But it’s how you respond to it that matters most. Many, because the sorrow is so great, end up committing suicide. Just last year there were even pastors that committed suicide. Yes PASTORS. Why, because though they had the title of a pastor, inside they were empty.

The only way to truly beat depression is through the Holy Spirit. When He enters inside of a person, depression goes away. They still face difficulties and will even have days when they are not so happy. But they know that all is not lost, and are ready to press on. The secret is the Spirit of God. Re-ceive Him and you will beat depression.

May the God of the Bible Bless You
