Would you marry someone that is unwilling to commit to be with you and only you for the rest of their life? No way. Would you enter into a business partnership with someone that is not committed one hundred percent to the company? No way. Would you work for a company that only pays it’s employees half the time? No.

These examples that I’m giving are to illustrate that no one would commit to someone or something that is unreliable. And neither will God. So many say they love God, but they still love the world as well. Otherwise, they say they want to be with God, but they still do the things that those in the world do. They drink, party, gamble, lie, sleep around, etc, etc, etc.

The Word of God speaks about this when it says,

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:15

Even if you go to church every Sunday, but you love the world, meaning you love to do the things that those in the world do… how can God dwell in you?

This is the problem with so many christians. They have one foot in the church and the other foot out. They want all of the blessings that come with praying to God, but they don’t want any part of the sacrifices required to please Him.

God requires total surrender. He does not want a piece of you, He wants all or nothing. He wants you to leave the world behind and give yourself to Him. It doesn’t mean your life will become boring and have no enjoyment. One the contrary, you will have true peace, true joy, true happiness. Because after all, He is the creator of those things and gives them to the one that serves Him.

May the God of the Bible bless you
