So we’ve just reached the start of the second half of the year and perhaps when you look back at the past six months you do not see accomplishments. Maybe what you see are failures, problems, obstacles, struggles, and frustrations. You made so many New Years resolutions and promised yourself you would be further ahead, but now you find yourself farther behind than you were when the year began. What must you do?

How to get things on track?

What you need to do is take Pauls advice, when he says:

“but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,” Philippians 3:13

This is the secret. You must FORGET what’s behind and look forward. Faith is to look forward, not backward. You can not change what went wrong in the past, but you can change what happens today and tomorrow. So you need to let go of the past. Of course, there are things that you still need to resolve from the past, and you will have to address those things.

But the failures and disappointments need to be erased from your mind. It is a waste of strength to focus on them. My friend put all your strength into what is ahead of you (which is your victory) and do not be troubled about what is behind you. The future is much more promising than your past will ever be.

May the God of the Bible Bless You
