How would you feel if it were your birthday or a special occasion and someone made you a cake, but when they brought it to you, it was only half? The rest they may have eaten or given away, but what you got was half. You’d certainly feel disrespected, insulted, offended, and unhappy. Perhaps it was a cake that you could make for yourself, but the point would be that if they were going to offer to make it and give it to you, then it should have been the whole thing.

This is how it works when it comes to making sacrifices to God. If I willingly decide to obey God’s voice, when He asks me to sacrifice… And I make a decision based on what I have faith that God is asking me to give… my next step must be to obey one hundred percent and give Him exactly what He asked. I can’t try to negotiate with God. I can’t try to haggle God. When God asks, He knows what He’s asking and He knows how hard it will be to give. But when He asks, He asks to see if we trust Him and are willing to surrender ALL that He asks. It must be…

ALL that I am,
ALL that I have,
ALL of my life on the Altar.

When God asked Abraham to sacrifice, He was clear what He asked;

Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.” Genesis 22:2

You see how specific God was about what He asked. He is direct and straight to the point. When a person chooses to obey and do the Will of God, He will show them His power. He will answer them and lead them to a new life. Abrahams willingness to sacrifice was what opened the door to a new life for him.

All those willing to follow in the footsteps of Abraham, will see the promises that God made to Abraham fulfilled in their lives as well.

May the God of the Bible Bless You
