Do you remember the time when you were called into your bosses office and told that you were fired? The moment you heard that news and thought about the bills you have to pay, you felt heavy. What about the time that the doctor told you that you would need to take the pills for the rest of your life? His words became a weight on your shoulders. The same happened when your wife told you that she was leaving… when you got the call that your son was in jail… when the problem came back again… all of these things put a load on your back.

Problems have a way of really weighing a person down. When you are surrounded by problems or feel totally oppressed, it can feel literally like you have a weight on your shoulder. It is truly tough. And that’s what breaks many and causes them to feel depressed or overwhelmed. Even suicidal.

The only One who can remove that load of oppression is God. Through Isaiah He says,

“It shall come to pass in that day
That his burden will be taken away from your shoulder,
And his yoke from your neck,” Isaiah 10:27

If you stand in faith and don’t give up, there will come a day when the Lord will remove the yoke (load) from your shoulders. You need to endure and fight against anything trying to take you down, but also looking up to Heaven and knowing that help is on the way. Instead of trying to carry the load yourself, or doing things wrong like lying, stealing, cheating, fighting, or anything like that to get the load off. Give the load to Jesus and let Him take it away.

May the God of the Bible Bless You
