Would you go to a nightclub to study for a big exam? Would you go to a party to read a book? Of course not. There is no way you could consentrate in a party or in a nightclub. You need a quiet environment to read a book or study, and in the same way, you need a calm environment to hear the voice of God.

If I was to seek God, but I am in an environment that is noisy and distracting, then how can I receive Him. I have never heard of anyone that received the Holy Spirit whilst at a secular concert. I never heard of anyone that had an encounter with God whilst at a secular movie. To receive the Holy Spirit, you need to be one hundred percent focused on Him. He has to be your number one priority. That’s why the Word of God says,

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. Matthew 6:6

To go into your room and shut the door is to stay away from the world and all that it has to offer. You have to avoid the things that are there to distract you, like TV, social media, video games, magazines, etc. And that’s what we have been doing for these 21 Days.

Now we are approaching the great Sunday of Pentecost, and if you want to receive the Holy Spirit, then you need to stay focused. Prepare yourself for Sunday starting today and don’t let the last couple of days left in the fast be in vain. You that did not know about this fast can join for this last day or so. Take the challenge of no worldly distractions and more investment in your spiritual life for today and tomorrow and Sunday go to one of our churches and be filled with the Holy Spirit. He can come after three weeks or after three minutes. There is no limit in Him.

May the God of the Bible Bless You
