How many times do you try to opt for things that favor you?  I mean, honestly its human nature. Most will always lean toward what works out best for themselves. And it also must be the easy way. You don’t want to be inconvenienced or thrown out of the comfort zone. And you don’t jump at things that seem hard. All of these things are a natural way of thinking… but they are not the way of faith.

Psalm 23 says,
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.

Most people know, read and even memorize this verse of the Bible. But If the Lord is truly your Shepherd, why then do you live in want. You are not supposed to be living in want, as it says there “I shall not want”. Why is it that in so many peoples life, they live in want? Because they do not honor the Shepherd. And when I say honor, I mean do what He wants of them, even if it is difficult or uncomfortable.

We all want the Lord as our Shepherd, but how can it be? Only when we obey His voice. When we practice His words. It’s like the law of the land. You can not be protected by the law, unless you obey the law. The court is made to defend the just, but a criminal will not be defended. There are some people that if they could they would try to erase the Bible and keep only the parts that they like, the parts that best fit what they want to do. But that will never work.

We can never omit from the law books what we want to omit, so we can never omit from God’s Word what we want to omit. Don’t keep only the parts that you like in the Bible. Apply the entire Bible in your life and God will make a difference like you’ve never seen before.

May the God of the Bible Bless you
