If you’ve ever done a detox then you will clearly understand what I’m about to say to you. Why do people detox? A person does a detox to remove impurities from their body so that they can feel and be more healthy, have more energy and be all around better off. But once the detox is over, what do most people do? They go back to eating the same way that they always did. And sooner than later, they feel the same way they did before the detox.

You can not do a detox and return to the same habits and expect the results of the detox to last. In the same way, we just ended a spiritual detox (and even if you did not do it with us, you will understand this example) and my advice to you is to not be so quick to dive back into the things that dirtied your spiritual life in the first place.

Of course, to be a servant of God is not to be a fanatic. But we also must be disciplined with the things that we do. We can not do any and everything that we feel like. It’s like the Bible says:

“A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.” 2 Peter 2:22

We should not be like a pig that runs back to the mud. Let’s live our life cautious of the things that are not good for us. And remain clean and strong before God. The secret to a faith that works is a good conscience and the secret to having a good conscience is to do what is right by God. So though you can do things in this world, be careful what things you choose to do. Because some will take you to a place that you don’t want to go.

May the God of the Bible Bless You
