If you put together all the money that you’ve spent in vain, you could probably buy a house, right?

Maybe you even make good pay at work, however something seems to always come up and your money always escapes through your fingers.

How many are those who spend money buying medication, cigarettes, drugs, paying late fees, etc. Your car is always breaking down, even the appliances in your house are always breaking. All these things cause you to spend money on what is not bread. It’s money spent in vain.

Why do you spend money for what is not bread,
And your wages for what does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good,
And let your soul delight itself in abundance.

Isaiah 55:2

When you spend your money on something that satisfies, you are spending your money on bread (meaning something good). But when you spend your money on what doesn’t satisfy, only because you have no choice, then that is not bread and it becomes frustrating. You’d love to put your money towards something that you want, but other things keep coming up and causing you to forcefully have to put your money towards those things. That’s spending on what is not bread.

There was a woman in the bible that suffered for twelve long years with a bleeding problem. One day this woman came to Jesus and touched Him. As soon as she touched Jesus her bleeding stopped. This woman used to spend all her money on medications.. she was spending money on what was not bread. Only when she came to Jesus was when her bleeding finally stopped.

Make a challenge with God! Call on Him and ask Him to change the situation in your life. He will break the curse and your money will begin to only be spent on the things that satisfy. And it will no longer run through your fingers like water.

But one thing you must do is be faithful to Him. Present to Him what belongs to Him, and He will give you what you need.

May the God of the Bible bless all of you!
