When someone gives you a gift, through that gift you see the consideration of that person for you. When someone doesn’t give you something left over or falling apart but instead goes to the store and thinks carefully about you, then purchases a brand new item to give to you… When he is even careful when wrapping the gift so that it can look just perfect… When you receive that gift, you will be happy. Why? Because you see how much that person considers you.

When you open that gift, you see the life of the person who gave it to you, in the gift. That is giving your best. And when this person needs me or it is their birthday, what kind of gift will I give to them in return? The best, even better than what was given to me, because it’s like a reward. You gave to me and now I am giving to you the best in return.

In the Bible we see this in the example of Cain and Abel:

By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks. Hebrews 11:4

Abel showed to God his consideration in giving to God his best. Cain on the other hand just threw something together and gave to God just anything, any kind of way. And we all know what his end was… cursed, marked for life by his lack of consideration. Let’s be considerate to God in everything that we do. If in this life we consider people (maybe there is someone who is very special to you, a person that you admire and you consider them highly), how much more should we consider God.

Be considerate in all things towards God. In how we pray, in the offerings that we give to him, in the time that we spend doing things for Him, in everything that we do. Do everything in excellence to our Lord. He deserves nothing but our absolute best.

May the God of the bible Bless you
