Most parents have rules inside of their houses, that they expect their children to follow and abide by. They set those rules so that they can maintain order and discipline inside of their house. And they do not accept for the children to not obey the rules set in place. Actually, if a child disobeys the parent, then they can usually expect some sort of discipline.

It’s funny how people don’t expect the same thing from God. The Philistines (who represent those who are unbelievers or disobedient to God) took the Ark which belonged to God and kept it in their land for seven months, expecting for it to bring them some type of good luck. But the opposite happened. They were cursed and broke out with tumors and the land was filled with rats. As it is written,

For the same plague was on all of you and on your lords. Therefore you shall make images of your tumors and images of your rats that ravage the land, and you shall give glory to the God of Israel; perhaps He will lighten His hand from you, from your gods, and from your land. 1 Samuel 6:4-5

The plague was on them because of their disobedience. And the same happens today. When a person touches what is holy (what belongs to God), they call the plagues upon themselves. But the plague today is misery, destruction of property, having to spend unexpectedly on medications, accidents, etc. Problems come and attack the person and take what they have.

Let me make something clear… God has no desire to punish anyone, nor does He curse anyone. But when a person disobeys and is unfaithful to Him, they bring destruction upon themselves. The solution is simple, be faithful to God and return to Him what belongs to Him, and He will protect and prosper your life. But if you disobey, the consequences will be inevitable.

May the God of the Bible Bless You
