I remember the testimony of a lady that said, “I partied, went to nightclubs, did drugs and watched porn, but I was still empty.” When you hear something like this, you can’t help but wonder, how come? How could she be doing all of these things and still be empty?

It’s funny, because the day she came inside of the church, she was not actually intending to enter. She saw a poster outside that said, “I overcame depression”, and she was actually mocking the poster. But as God works in mysterious ways, she ended up coming inside of the church.

In the end she confessed that she was doing all of those dirty things, trying to fill a void of depression that was inside of her. People outside thought she was so happy, but inside she was broken.

And this is the reality of many outside and inside of the church.

They need to clean themselves on the inside first, and then the life will change on the outside. Jesus once rebuked the Pharisees for being hypocrites and acting like their lives were so perfect, when in fact they were dirty inside. He said to them,

Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also. Matthew 23:26

What Jesus needs from you the most, in order to change your life, is honesty and effort. You have to be honest about your life and the condition that it is in, and make an effort to seek Him for the change. Decide to stop mocking God or ignoring His direction, and instead seek to know what He wants for your life. He will guide you to total happiness and fulfillment.

May the God of the Bible bless you
