Everything in life has a before and after. Your parents had a life before you were born, and after you were born their lives changed. You that are married had a life before marriage and a new life after marriage. You that opened a business had a life before the business and one after.

But the same also applies in the negative. Many had a life before cancer and after. A life before divorce and one after. A life before they got shot and one after. A life before they lost their child and after.

Unfortunately, most peoples “before and after”, is all negative. Before the problem came, things were bad, but after the problem, things only got worst. That is the reality we see these days.

Spiritually it is no different. Before Jesus came to this earth and died for us, we had no advocate to fight for us, no guarantee of our victory, no comforter when in distress. But after His Death and resurrection, we have assurance of victory, through His sacrifice (as long as we obey Him).

Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. Colossians 2:15

Because Jesus triumphed over the evil spirits, me and you have the right to triumph over them in His name.

And that is why Good Friday can not just be one more day for you. It also can not just be a religious holiday. It has to be a day of great victory. If our Lord overcame, we also must overcome.

May the God of the Bible Bless You
