I once heard a story about a man that gave his daughter a plastic pearl necklace from a gum-ball machine. She loved it so much because the daddy gave it to her, and she never wanted to take it off. One day he decided to buy her a real pearl necklace because he saw how much she loved the plastic one. But when he came to her with the real pearls hidden behind his back and asked her to take off the plastic ones because he has a surprise for her, she cried. She thought that he was taking her necklace away, because she didn’t know that he had something much better for her. When she finally saw the real pearls of course she broke down in tears of joy for the great present the father gave her.

This story illustrates what happened in Abrahams life. He had the dream of having a child. As it is written;

But Abram said, “Lord God, what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” Genesis 15:2

But Gods vision for his life was much greater;

And behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body… “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” Genesis 15: 4-5

God’s vision was not to give him A child, but to make him a NATION. To give him many children.

The point here is that you need to stop seeing with human eyes, with human vision. God’s vision is great and can and will only be fulfilled in the life of one that gives themself one hundred percent to him. You must be willing to give up the plastic pearls (what you have now), in order to receive the valuable pearls (the blessed life) that God has for you.

May the God of the Bible Bless You
